Background:
In Large part, Christians of the Holy Land depend on Christian pilgrimages and tourism for their existence. many pilgrims flocked to the holy sites to experience the places of Christ's birth, ministry, death and resurrection. The pounds and dollars pumped into the local economy, with tourists buying goods such as olive wood carvings - nativity sets, olive wood crosses, rosaries and icons - help sustain the region's Christians as they face severe socio-economic hardship.
The problem is that for the past years Christians are not visiting, they are afraid to do so because of the ongoing conflict, the wars, the Covid-19 pandemic and especially in Bethlehem the wall built around the city turning it to a large prison.
It became very difficult for Christian families to manage themselves and to afford living in the holy land , this causes most of them to immigrate and leave the country , the Christian population went down from being 30% as Christians in the holy land last century to less than 1% nowadays, and if it goes on like this , in few years you will find no Christians in the land of Christ.

To stop Christian immigration and preserve Christianity in the land of Christ
Help the Christian community have some little income, keep working and stay in instead of immigrating and leaving.

The olive wood carving is a tradition that was introduced by the Monks and Priests on the 7th century, and later it was perfected by local carvers, and has been handed down from father to son for centuries.
Now-a-day, there are over 800 families in the city of Bethlehem who still perfect this art, and depend in it as their main living income.

Bethlehem olive wood is a local raw material from which mainly religious, historical, and artistic articles are made, using the prunes of young olive trees , and the sprouts from the trunks of the old, unproductive trees.
